About me

I’m Mel Geordz, a composer of epic, orchestral and cinematic music. If you’ve made it this far, welcome. Let me share a little about who I am and the journey that brought me here.

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents filled our home with the songs they loved—timeless classics that had even marked the beginning of their own story together. Those melodies became the soundtrack of my childhood and sparked a fascination that has never left me.

By the age of seven, I was already recording everything I heard on the radio with an old cassette recorder. Before long, my bedroom was filled with hundreds of tapes, carefully organized by genre: film scores, classical music, national anthems, pop, rock, heavy metal, dance music, R&B and countless others. I never limited myself to one style. I simply loved music in all its forms.

Alongside that passion for music, cinema became another great source of inspiration. Watching films such as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Indiana Jones, Superman, Back to the Future, Star Wars, Batman, The Lion King, Jurassic Park, Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner made me realize that music could do far more than accompany a story. It could tell one of its own.

The works of John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Miklós Rózsa, Hans Zimmer, Vangelis, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman and many other legendary composers left a lasting mark on me. Long before I ever considered making music professionally, orchestral music had already become one of my greatest passions.

Inspired by my passion for music, I built a professional career in the world of dance music. Under my real name, Jordi Carreras, I spent more than two decades working as a composer, producer, DJ and radio host. I released countless dance productions, became a radio host at Los 40 Principales and RAC105, and later joined the team at Vale Music, one of the leading record labels of the 2000s.

Those years were intense, exciting and deeply rewarding. They allowed me to grow both creatively and professionally as a composer and artist. Despite the demands of that career, orchestral composition remained a constant part of my creative life, even if I couldn’t devote myself to it as fully as I wanted.

Eventually, I knew it was time to dedicate myself fully to orchestral composition. Today, Mel Geordz is where that vision comes to life.

Every composition I create is inspired by the same emotions I felt as a child while listening to those unforgettable film scores: adventure, hope, courage, wonder, loss and triumph, among many others. Through my music, I aim to tell stories without words and create journeys that invite listeners to imagine, dream and feel.

Thank you for being here and for being part of this journey.
